Toward the world's standard machine with the breakthrough technology of the Warm Isostatic Press

The history of our high-pressure pressing machines started in 1959 when we became the sole sales agent of U.S. company Autoclave Engineers. High-pressure pressing machines of those days were special devices used in the research laboratories of universities and the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology. However, in accordance with the worldwide production increase of mobile telephones in the mid-1980s, the need from the general industry grew suddenly as the demand for multilayer ceramic capacitors increased rapidly. In conventional capacitor production, the “mechanical pressing machine” that applies pressure uniaxially was used. However, it was not capable of applying pressure evenly, which resulted in deteriorated production efficiency.
To overcome this drawback, we developed the Warm Isostatic Press machine capable of processing with high precision and high quality by applying pressure to hot water in a closed container, and by thermocompression bonding at an even pressure and temperature from all directions. The breakthrough “Warm Isostatic Laminator” has been widely employed as a machine indispensable to the manufacturing of multilayer ceramic capacitors and was accepted as the world's standard machine instantly.
