The present owners of this fantastic Chinese Restaurant, offered up for sale in the Larnaca / Kiti area actually dare to produce their authentic dishes with NO MSG (monosodium glutamate) added. Indeed, many ingredients come from their own garden and when I visited, todays harvest of bean sprouts was being carefully prepared for this evenings discerning customers. My respect is magnified by the fact that when they took this establishment over, it was somewhat run down, and now under their own hand they have transformed it into a Mecca for Chinese food lovers (if thats not a mixed metaphor).
The premises is bedecked with Chinese regalia and careful, tasteful decoration, with traditional wall paintings throughout, even in the bathrooms, which also include small attention to detail like individual hand towels wrapped and presented on bamboo trays. Outside there is a Chinese style bridge, as if traversing a water garden, joining two outside eating areas, where the chirping of small finches may be heard; again adding to the authenticity of the occasion. The ambience is further enhanced by the playing of gentle Chinese melodies for a background mood. As a customer, one can choose between Chopsticks or Western utensils, carefully selected for the theme, with bamboo style shafts. The restaurant is open all year round, offering home delivery in the area, and of course a take away option. With plenty of space to move about, there are 30 covers inside and about the same outside, in two separate areas. As an added comfort there is the option for Air-conditioning when it gets unbearably hot, and for the winter a comforting open log fire. A well stocked and presented bar, essential to move any occasion along, offers local and Chinese beers, local and international wines and their own house wine at very reasonable prices.
